The first photo, taken before the second spraying, shows black spot fungus on the papaya leaf. The white areas show where the first treatment eliminated the fungus, leaving small patches of dead leaf tissue. This minor damage will not harm the plant because papayas naturally shed their leaves.
The second photo shows the leaf after the second spraying. The black spot was gone, and when the plant was checked two weeks later, the fungus had not returned. All new leaves were spot-free.
Why I Created Mom's Garden Secret
For as long as I can remember, I've loved helping people grow healthier, more beautiful gardens.
With a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture and many years of working with gardeners, I saw the same problems again and again. Harmful insects and fungal diseases could quickly damage vegetables, flowers, fruit trees, and ornamental plants.
Too often, the available products were harsh, required multiple sprays, or raised concerns for families seeking a more natural approach. I wanted something different.
My goal was to create a single effective product that could help gardeners manage both harmful insects and common fungal diseases using natural ingredients. I also wanted a product I would feel comfortable using in my own garden, around my family and pets, when used as directed.

Insects can introduce fungal diseases to your plants, which can lead to their demise. Cedar oil is one of the best natural insect controls there is. When added to Mom's Garden Secret, it increases the strength to handle harder-to-control, harmful insects without harming the environment.
It also contains insecticidal soap, which is another natural insect destroyer. These ingredients enter the insect's breathing pores and overcome its natural ability to prevent water from entering the respiratory system. Water goes in and destroys the insects.
Ingredients:
In addition to cedar oil and insecticidal soap, it includes acetic acid, sodium bicarbonate, and vegetable oil. These last three ingredients are effective in controlling fungus and other plant diseases. All of these natural ingredients are combined in the right ratio for effective results. Just spray on both the top and bottom of the plant leaves.
Spray directly on the insects you want to eliminate from your garden, avoiding helpful ones such as bees. That way you don't kill the helpful insects.
Will rain wash it off? Part of it will wash off. The ingredients that combat fungus stick to the leaves because of the veggie oil and won't wash off. But actually, to kill insects, you should spray directly on the insects you find or on the area you suspect has harmful insects. This acts immediately.
Can I use it on vegetables? Yes. It can be used on vegetables when applied according to the product label. Follow all directions regarding application and harvesting.
How often should I spray? If sprayed directly on the bugs, they are killed immediately. Sometimes with fungus, you need to spray two or three days in a row.
Can I use it on houseplants? Yes. It can be used on houseplants when applied as directed. Keep pets away during application, and do not spray near birds because cedar oil can be harmful to them.
For insects, spray the product directly on the pests. Fungal problems may require additional applications.
Does it kill caterpillars? No. You would need a different product for that, such as Thuricide. Caterpillars have a different breathing system from other bugs, so Mom's Garden Secret won't work on them. Thuricide is a living parasite that caterpillars ingest when they eat the leaves sprayed with the product. The parasite kills them from the inside. Mom's Garden Secret is excellent for other kinds of bug pests.
